Is a good JEE Main score enough for an IIT?

No. IIT seats are filled on your JEE Advanced rank. JEE Main decides NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats and whether you qualify to write JEE Advanced. Both sets of seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling.

Average, median or highest package: which one should I trust?

Median. Half the graduating batch earned more than the median and half earned less. A few large offers pull the average up and the highest package is a single offer. Hallpass shows the median first.

Can I get into a central university without JEE or NEET?

Yes. Central universities admit undergraduates on CUET UG scores, and many state and private universities accept CUET too. Your Class 12 subjects decide which CUET papers you should take.

Does a college keep its NIRF rank every year?

No. The Ministry of Education publishes NIRF every year and ranks move. Always check the year and the category (Engineering, University or Overall) next to any rank.
